The brief

What trends sustained Covid?

We were challenged by Think with Google to create a Visual Story on trends that were born during Covid but have sustained since to become everyday life. The story needed a stand-out creative direction that aligns with brand guidelines but highlights the topic with a unique theme.

The solution

Rich data, bold visuals

We combined human video content with infographic animation to tell the story of people’s lives with intriguing insights. The video brought context to the chapters whilst data could be digested in simple and visual formats.

Design direction

The design pushed the boundaries of Google’s guidelines while keeping true to core principles. We highlighted the changes in trends with gradient-coloured and stacked shapes. The data was displayed with contextual visuals that showed the growth in sustained trends.

Animation

Each frame was brought to life with simple animations that built the story of data without distracting from the insights. We utilised the native Newsroom (nws.ai) animations with enhanced motion in After Effects.
